Molluscum contagiosum, an infectious condition common in children, can be treated easily with a topical blistering agent that we can apply during your visit. Patients may develop blistering of the treated area within 24 hours following application. Molluscum warts can also be treated with freezing or removal. Widespread infection with the virus often requires multiple applications of the blistering agent which can be done as frequently as every 2 weeks. Home therapy with preparations such as Compound W is often helpful as well. For more information, please visit: www.aad.org
