Dr. Geller’s services are extended through his Physician Assistants, and together they form a team to provide the best possible patient care.
Physician Assistants are medical providers that are licensed to diagnose and treat patients under the guidance of a supervising physician.
The addition of Physician Assistants to the staff has enabled Dr. Geller to greatly expand the scope of the practice and to significantly
improve the office’s ability to accommodate patient demand.
Physician Assistants are trained in all aspects of medical and surgical Dermatology and can practice as independent medical providers once
they are trained. Dr. Geller is available to assist them with more challenging cases.

Cindy Guan, PA-CCindy Guan PA-C has extensive experience in Dermatology and multiple other fields in medicine and science. Immediately before joining us in New Jersey, Cindy worked as a Dermatology and Emergency Room Physician Assistant in Maryland. She also worked as a Physician Assistant in Obstetrics and Gynecology. Prior to working as a Physician Assistant, she had received the second highest score on the national pre-board Physician Assistant examination at Anne Arundel Community College in Arnold, Maryland, and she made the Dean’s List.
Before moving to the United States and becoming a permanent resident, Cindy earned her MD Degree at China Medical University in Shenyang, China where less than 1% of applicants had been accepted. She received an academic award every year of medical school for academic excellence.
Following medical school, she served three years as a resident in Obstetrics and Gynecology and subsequently worked for four years as an OB/GYN surgeon at China-Japan Friendship Hospital in Beijing where she specialized in gynecologic oncology.
Prior to medical school, Cindy earned her Master of Science degree at Peking Union Medical University, Beijing, China. She performed research in detection of p53 mutation in human ovarian cancer.
Cindy subsequently earned a PhD at the Medical School of Sinshu University, Matsumoto, Japan. Her thesis involved ASC/TMS1’ expression and the aberrant methylation in melanoma and other type of human cancers, and roles of ASC in infectious diseases. She was awarded a National Scholarship from the Ministry of Education, the highest scholarship in Japan based on academic excellence.
Upon moving to the United States in 2003, Cindy served as a Postdoctoral Fellow in Biochemistry and Molecular Cell Biology at the University of Maryland. Her research involved the interaction of cell cycle checkpoint proteins and DNA repair proteins to find tumor markers for diagnosis and target proteins for cancer therapy. She published four publications during her Fellowship, and now has nine in multiple medical journals.
Cindy’s true love, however, is to treat patients. She subsequently left the University of Maryland to commence Physician Assistant school and, to our great fortune, she moved to New Jersey and accepted a position at Jay D Geller MD PC.
Cindy specializes in all areas of Dermatology, particularly Dermatologic Surgery. She is warm, friendly, and compassionate, and we are delighted to have her as part of our team.
